Watching The Watchers
As I was walking to the bank, I began counting surveillance cameras that I walk passed. Chicago has been installing CCTV cameras at what could be considered an alarming rate over the last few years. I counted 23 unique cameras in proximity to my person as I walked to my destination.Nearly every intersection in the Loop has at least one, sometimes two, dome-shaped cameras attached to traffic light poles. The same could said about intersections throughout the rest of the city. Many downtown buildings are armed with surveillance cameras to defend themselves against something.
Here is a 2003 map of surveillance cameras located in the Chicago Loop. This map was created by Bill Brown of the New York Surveillance Camera Players . Brown counted 227 cameras within the Loop in 2003. This inspired me to begin creating an updated map.

Angela: the rectangular-shaped camera units with strobe bars(image displayed in blog post) are "portable" units. They are designated for high crime areas. The intention for these particular cameras was to move them to follow crime patterns, but the ones I have seen have been quite permanent so far.
Some of these units are outfitted with microphones that THEY claim only respond to sounds of gun shots.
These portable camera units are called PODSS(Portable Overt DIgital Surveillance System)[by RMS Technology Solutions, Inc.

Hoi Polloi: only time can tell. Two nuggets to keep on eye on: Silverstein Properties(Larry Silverstein/World Trade Center) bought the Sears Tower in 2004 and the Freemasons/Shriners have abandoned their downtown buildings and the lodge near where I live.
Joshua: Speaking of London/Chicago correspondences, the Chicago police have the same checkerboard pattern on their caps and police vehicles have all blue emergency lights.
As far as traffic tickets go, the Dept. of REVENUE never sleeps.

I agree...great field work! Important stuff, and Chicago is a GREAT place to go out and find stuff. I am planning on doing a little photo tour of Athens (pop. just over 100,000).
Chicago willmost likely be the american city whre big brother type societal/psychological control mechanisms will be implemented. it only makes sense.
it is in the heartland, a huge "small town" in many ways, and surrounded by more conservastive culture.
It is in many ways the HEART of America.
a mixture of progressive thought and conservative values.
not only that, but i personally have found that much of the "liberal" or "progressive" contingency reeks of dogmatism, making them that much more easy to manipulate.
go to almost any protest event and you will see in either in terms of the area where the protewst happens (within an area which has been architecturally and civically planned in an esoteric manner) or hear it in the violent terms, language and attitude presented.
Chicago seems to be the petri dish of the american piece of the "NWO".
plus, never forget how feverishly Daley and the State Government suck at the federal teat as tehy constantly get on their knees begging the Fed's for funding for the majority of projects.
chicago is a federal town. through and through.
also something to bear in mind - The Confucius Institute for Chinese Language is based largely in the Chicago Public School System, teaching Chinese language to many youths and quite possibly preparing them for what may be to come....
Filmnoir23: yes, there appears to be rather a deep occult connection to Chicago and the surrounding area. I will continue sharing my findings as time permits.
Looking forward to your photographic tour of Athens. Have you visited the Georgia Guidestones? I've been trying to get over there to check them out for quite some time.

Oddly, there is VERY little occult/nwo type structures around Athens. The local government here however is very odd.
I have never actually stopped at the Guidestones (although I have driven by them many times on the way to Atlanta). They are only 15 Miles or so outside of town.
I found the city dropping citywide wifi after they were asked to pay for a portion of it as a direct example of what you are all saying about Chicago
